Two "Piedra Muñeca" stones from Barichara, Colombia.

The first step is to apply an acrylic resin (Paraloid B-72) on the edges of the breaks. This step is essential to improve the reversibility of the restoration while preventing pre-penetration of the structural adhesive. For adhesion, an epoxy resin (Araldite AY 103-1) was used.
For the filling, I decided to test several combination of products to find the one that best approximated the texture of this porous and granular stone. The best result combined an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic resin (Plextol B500), kaolin and pigments.
All the fillings were retouched with acrylic paint.
